Please tell us about yourself and your business. How long have you been in the industry?
April is an interior designer and has been a kitchen designer for over 20 years. Her father was a kitchen designer (and still works with April) so they say they have kitchen design in their blood. April went to school for interior design with a focus on residential. They have a cabinet and design showroom in the Atlanta area and their team is mostly interior designers so that they can bring the entire home and interior space together, not just the cabinets.
What makes for good design in your opinion?
Good design is about capturing the spirit of the client and how they use the space, their taste and their budget, and giving them the best design that fits their lifestyle. Every design shouldn’t look the same and every client doesn’t want the same cookie cutter kitchen. They want a design that speaks to them and is the best version of their taste and their ideas.
What do you love about kitchen design?
April loves everything about kitchen design. It is the heart of the home and the most important space for families these days. It is part kitchen, part gathering and entertaining space, part homework zone, and sometimes even an office. So, designing a kitchen is more than math and how to configure boxes in a room...it is giving every family a place for important meals and family conversations, a place for celebrations and making memories. And, April shares, “It’s truly amazing that our clients trust us to create these important spaces for their families.”
