Fashioned With A View

When this bachelor bought a log home on a huge property with expansive views, he knew it would need a new kitchen to satisfy his needs. He is very serious about cooking, so the space needed to accommodate top-of-the-line appliances, including a 60" range with double ovens, another single oven, a steam oven and a Salamander broiler. Fortunately, he knew a cabinet designer at Heartland Cabinet Supply who was up for the challenge.

Designed with multiple windows to provide ample outdoor views, there was very little usable wall space in this kitchen. However, the space did allow using a significant number of base cabinets for storage and convenience. The chosen layout required the design to flow through a series of inside and outside corners while dealing with a vaulted ceiling. This meant the designer needed to be very accurate, precisely measuring the space to create custom sizes that would be necessary to accommodate his desired cooking needs.

The ability to affordably customize sizes made Showplace Cabinetry the perfect choice for the project. Designing the layout to have a finished look from the second floor was also necessary and was easily accomplished.

Completed by Heartland Cabinet Supply in Crystal Lake, IL, this beautiful project was a 2019 Showplace Cabinetry National Award Winner – Honorable Mention Traditional Kitchen Design.
