This wasn't the first project these homeowners had done with Home Clearance Center so the process was familiar to them as they embarked on their kitchen remodel. Their main objective was to create a functional space with a large island that would make entertaining family and friends a pleasant experience. Their old kitchen also lacked function and storage.
A significant design challenge was working with a 48" range top that needed to be located on a 96" wall with a 45-degree turn. Having selected a custom range hood posed symmetry challenges that were overcome by specially designed Showplace products that were custom-fit to the space.
Removing a bar/desk area described as being "archaic" which, along with removing a wall, allowed the kitchen to be extended; this provided great pantry storage and allowed for the french door oven with microwave. The new space, using Showplace Cabinetry, accomplished all their objectives, creating the ultimate design and gathering place. As a personal bonus, the designer expressed great joy in working with these down-to-earth homeowners, stating she couldn't have asked for more perfect clients.
