This private hunting lodge is a converted and expanded farmhouse in central South Dakota's legendary pheasant belt. Showplace Cabinetry was used to create the handsome kitchen, a laundry/mud room, bathrooms, and even custom bunk beds for visiting grandkids. The large kitchen, loft and family room space was added on to the original farmhouse, and reclaimed wood was used for the floor and vaulted ceiling. The interior design of the lodge mixes woods, paints, metals, tile, and soapstone tops for a lovely interplay of textures and tones. The understated Pendleton Inset door style was used throughout, in paint grade, red oak, and rustic hickory. The handcrafted Vintage finishes fit right in with the theme of rugged comfort. The Oyster painted finish in the kitchen is a lovely pale gray, reinforcing the impression of natural aging.
