Amy graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Interior Design. She tried out a few other types of interior design before landing as a kitchen designer. Amy quickly realized being a specialized designer was the right fit for her. She earned her CKD certification in 2008. She spends her days bouncing between new construction and remodel cabinetry projects and managing everything that goes with them. The rest of her time is mostly spent with her husband, chasing their 3 children and dog!
How long have you been in the industry?
Amy has been a kitchen/bath designer for almost 19 years and in the design industry for 22 years.
What makes for good design in your opinion?
Good design to Amy is functional while being beautiful. Amy feels both should work together effortlessly and make someone stop and think, “wow!”
What do you love about kitchen design?
Most people don’t remodel or build many times in their lifetime. Amy enjoys getting to know her clients and being a part of their experience. She especially loves a remodel project where the homeowner knows they want and need something different, but struggles to see outside of the box they’ve been living in. It’s the most challenging and rewarding in the end.
