The homeowners wanted to maximize the functionality of the space.
The design team was tasked with creating a mudroom and a functioning pantry for a busy, young family.
The team decided to place the pantry cabinets and mudroom lockers back to back and float the entire unit in the middle of the room for ease of flow throughout the space.
The homeowners love the functionality and beauty of the cabinetry.
The design team loves the overall concept of floating the cabinets and being able to walk all the way around. Really cool idea!

With a busy family myself, I appreciate floating the cabinetry in the center. Expected is against the walls, but this design keeps people out of each others' way all while providing the storage a family needs. This is a brilliant and beautiful design.
It appears that the clients' needs were met while making a beautiful storage piece. I would like to know how this room flows with the rest of the home. I would assume the doorway closest to the pantry side would be the kitchen, and then by looking through, you don't see the "what can be a mess" of the mud room side. if this is the case, it is a very thoughtful and purposeful design.
Good quality photographs and staging. It's nice to see with and without everyday items. All the colors of the room flow nicely together. I really like the ship lap side panels to tie the two sides together.
Because of the floating center design, there is plenty of walkway space which is always lacking in a mud room - this was well done.
