The rest of the story ...
The client was looking for a clean, classic look with ample storage. The floor plan was completely rearranged for optimal flow within the Kitchen. The ceilings were raised to 11' to give a grand appearance to the space. They were wanting to achieve a contrast look with the two paint colors. We did a custom color for the dark cabinetry that was a perfect charcoal color to offset the White Dove paint color. This client has followed Holland House and wanted the "look" that Holland House does so well: clean, classic and warm. We achieved the classic look with the Pendleton door style; the simple lines will allow this kitchen to stand the test of time. In addition, the quartz countertop coming up the backsplash makes the space feel light and bright. We accented the space with the wood floor throughout to create the warmth needed to make it cohesive.
We had some unexpected beams in the space that we needed to work around but with the flexibility of Showplace, the beam became part of the design and looks like it was there all along.
We wanted to accent the beam with the white oak wood that was used for the flooring. We decided to wrap the beam with the white oak, as well as add a small detail around the hood to tie it all in together.
The client loves the versitility of all of the cabinetry and storage. They love the overall flow of the kitchen as well as the clean
and classic look.
I love working on remodel projects. The challenges that present themselves create a need to come up with creative solutions. My favorite part about this project is comparing the "before" to the "after." From a dark golden oak kitchen to a bright, wide open space that still feels warm. I love getting to create beauty in my clients' homes and this project was a fun one!
